Type: Large Diaphragm Condenser / Tube / Multi-Pattern

Same capsule as U-47/48 but the similarities end there. This mic has become a standard for female vocalists—see Barbara Streisand, Norah Jones, Billie Holliday. With a big, full, neutral sound (not as aggressive or hyped as the U-47/48) they are also frequently used in classical and jazz recording. M-49s have been featured in many, if not most, of the great Columbia 30th St. Studios recordings (Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Tony Bennett). This M-249c originally came the famous United (later Ocean Way then Cello) Studios in Los Angeles.
